Honors and Awards

First Class Prize of Provincial Natural Science for Recognizing, Capturing and Removing POPs from Water, awarded in 2014 Technological Innovation Prize of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, awarded in 2012 Second Class Prize of State Technological Invention for Deeply Removing Heavy Metal from Water, awarded in 2011 Second Class Prize of National Science and Technology Progress for Heavy metal recycling, awarded in 2005.

Current Research

Prof. Luo's research focuses on the removing and recycling of heavy metals and POPs in the urban water and reclaimed water. Within this area, he has investigated advanced oxidation treatment systems and developed biological approaches based on plant endophyte employed in the water system contaminated by heavy metals or persistent organic pollution. He also has proposed generally accepted theory and engineering research on waste-water treatment. More than 270 papers have been published by him and his research group and the times of citation is 8992. The H index is up to 53.

Biography

Prof. Luo obtained a B. S. In Metal Corrosion and Protection from Hunan University and a PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from Central South University. He is currently the academic leader in Environmental Engineering in water pollution control.
